Privacy

Image Identifier is built to analyze the image you select in your browser. Your selected image bytes are not uploaded to an application backend for analysis, and we do not send them to a third-party detector API as part of the core tool.

What stays local

  • The file you choose is read in the browser for validation and review.
  • Results you see come from checks running on your device for that session.
  • We do not create accounts or store your images in a cloud gallery.
  • We do not save image contents, prompts, or location fields to localStorage by default.

What may use the network

“Analyzes locally” is not the same as “never uses the network.” The site may still request:

  • Static site assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, fonts, icons).
  • Runtime modules required by the tool (including WebAssembly binaries hosted with the app).
  • An optional model download if you explicitly start the statistical check (first run or after cache eviction).
  • Analytics or advertising scripts only if they are enabled later — none are required for the tool to work today.

Those requests should not include your selected image bytes. Before a public release with ads or analytics, the Network panel should be re-checked while running all analysis paths.

Sensitive fields

If a file may contain location-related fields, they stay hidden until you choose to reveal them in the results view.
